Overview

The Mastermind is behind a series of bank robberies notable for their precise demands—and their explosive violence when the demands are not exactly met. When detective Alex Cross gets involved and recognizes that a particular kind of criminal mind is at work, the Mastermind decides to make it his personal goal to take revenge on Cross and his entire team.

Amidst all this, Cross' relationship with his girlfriend Christine is in shambles, and his beloved daughter Jannie is hospitalized with unexplained seizures. The pressure is rising on every front, and a shocking and explosive climax is definitely in store!

Not my favorite. I like the Alex Cross series but they are just about all the same.

Alex Cross does it again

My very first novel with Detective Cross was "Along Came A Spider." And ever since then, Patterson has had me hooked! In "Roses Are Red," the story begins with a bang! Patterson is very good at hooking the reader and keeping you on your toes and completely involved. I would recommend checking out "Violets Are Blue," too!

I think this book was well written. It has its fair share of mystery and suspense. I was about to fall from my seat waiting for her who the mastermind was. I wish there was more about him after we found out who he was indeed. Very good story.

It was definitely good. Patterson is an incredible suspense writer. This one leaves you wondering...and kept me guessing until the end.

Not as good as his other ones.

I have read a couple of James Patterson's books although this was my first Alex Cross novel. This definitely wasn't my favorite of Patterson's. The ending was a little abrupt and not that great. I'll listen to the next in the series, Violets are Blue, but not rushing to get it soon. If you are interested in James Patterson try First to Die... that was EXCELLENT!

Typical James Patterson Story

This story is typical of the Alex Cross stories. If you like the Cross novels, then you will probably like this one; however, if you are looking for something different, there is no need to listen.

I really enjoy James Patterson especially the Womens Murder Club. This is the first one that I have "read" that had Alex Cross. I am looking forward to more books with him. The one thing that disappointed me was not more was said about Alex Jr. coming to live with him. Perhaps because this was an abridged version I am not sure. But over all I really enjoyed listening to this book.
