Overview

In this unique CD program, world-renowned psychic Sylvia Browne dispels the popular myths about angels, spirit guides, and ghosts. With her trademark candor, she explains that you can communicate with your angels and guides, and that they're here to help you along your journey. In addition, she covers topics from forgiveness to reincarnation, shares some of her personal experiences with these celestial beings, and provides helpful tips on effective prayer.

Sylvia also imparts methods to protect yourself from a psychic attack and determine whether your loved ones are sending you messages from the Other Side. Then, using a healing meditation, she shows you how you can unite with your angels and spirit guides whenever you choose to do so. In closing, Sylvia uses her abilities to answer audience questions and shed light on what really happens when we leave this plane of existence.

Not at all intersting and I felt like she was always calling people morons.

just a quick talk not a book

I thought this would be an interesting book but it was just a quick speech along with some questions from people asking what their life's purpose was and then a meditation. If the speech could have been expanded it might have been more enjoyable.

Not for me

I could never get into this CD--it was a lot of "tongue in cheek" humor about the spirit world and we humans' feeble attempts at interacting with it. It was like trying to learn about angels, guides and ghosts from Roseann Barr. :-(

Very funny & entertaining while learning all about Angels & Guides

In this CD Sylvia Brown is very funny.Good sense of humour. I do not agree with her view on certain topics, but she is very outspoken and hilarious. I would get this CD just for the fun, it makes for a good laugh. Very entertaining. Sylvia shows us that we can still have fun, while learning all about Angels, Guides and Ghosts.

I enjoyed this book - going through a spiritual growth I have found this book to be helpful. Having clarification of the difference between, an angel, a spiritual guide and ghosts has been intersting to say the least. I always knew Angels were around me - now I'm beginning to understand the difference.

I found this book enlightening and encouraging. I believe there are forces among us that most of us can't understand. Silvia Browne gives us an option to explore our own beliefs and decide for ourselves by offering her prespective and understanding.

a fun listen

A fun listen, Sylvia is always entertaining. The first half of the CD is more interesting than the last half, where she takes questions from the audience, as this CD was recorded live.

Amusing is the best I can say about this book. I wasn't expecting a stand-up comic routine. I wouldn't recommend this audio.

Not my cup of tea

I rented this thinking that I would learn quite a bit but didn't make it through the first 20 minutes or so. Might be worthwhile if you are already a convert but doesn't work for the explorer.

First of all this was not a book, but rather a stand-up comic routine with the theme of angels and such. If you can get past the poor womans voice, and really listen to what she's really saying, its nothing more than a bunch of jokes. I would not recomend this "book" to anyone...dont waste your time with this one.

Browne, Sylvia

"In December of 1998, Montel Williams introduced her to a national television audience as ""the world renowned psychic Sylvia Browne,"" a title which this California resident, spiritual advisor and author humbly accepts but rightly deserves. With the release of her second book by Dutton in August 1999, THE OTHER SIDE AND BACK: A Psychic's Guide to Our World And Beyond, Sylvia Browne is sure to continue the legacy that has made her a household name.

After 47 years giving psychic readings, 27 years of television appearances and 25 years of paranormal research, countless hours of pro bono work with medical, psychiatric and law enforcement agencies across America--and having published a best-selling biography last year--Browne's psychic skills and spiritual advice continue to be invaluable to the many lives she touches.

Born Sylvia Shoemaker in Kansas City in 1936, Browne was raised predominantly a Catholic, but also absorbed the Jewish, Episcopalian and Lutheran backgrounds of her extended family. At the age of five, she first learned of her psychic powers when she had frightening premonitions of the deaths of her two great-grandmothers just weeks before their passing. With the help of her grandmother, Ada Coil, also an established and respected psychic counselor and healer, Sylvia came to understand her many psychic gifts, which include the ability to communicate with spirits from ""The Other Side.""

After spending 18 years as a Catholic schoolteacher, Browne decided it was time to dedicate her life to her passion for spiritual knowledge and her desire to help others with their religious and spiritual quests. Readings in her home with 15 to 20 friends soon grew to gatherings of two or three hundred people in churches and town halls. Before long, she was making television appearances on such programs as ""The Montel Williams Show"" as well as appearing before standing room only audiences of two to three-thousand around the country.

A student of theology and comparative religion, Browne is also an accredited hypnotist. In 1974, she founded the Nirvana Foundation for Psychic Research (now the Sylvia Browne Corporation). In 1986, she established a church called the Society of Novus Spiritus (New Spirit), which has a membership in the thousands. The society's beliefs are based on Catholic theology, but the church rejects such concepts as sin, guilt and retribution.

Today, Sylvia Browne continues to give individual readings as a spiritual advisor in California, and she travels throughout the country helping others understand how the psychic world works in their lives and how they can use their knowledge of ""The Other Side"" to harness their own self-healing powers.
