Overview

Minutes after a Boeing 747 rises majestically into a Hong Kong sunset, a flash splits the darkening sky. The pilot - suddenly blinded and doubled over in pain - fumbles in the dark in a frantic effort to gain control as the huge jet shudders through its descent. Kat Bronsky, FBI agent and terrorism specialist, is assigned the hunt for a Challenger-class business jet seen nearby just before the incident. The case poses countless questions: Was the flash a pilot error, a missile attack, or a malfunction? Or was it some new kind of weapon? And why are several government agencies interested in what Kat uncovers?

I enjoyed this audiobook. As I am a pilot it made it more interesting. Nance knows his stuff. Not the corny stuff some authors and directors dream up that are so unreal. I have often daydreamed of saving the day from a disabled crew. My edition that was sent to me had a few paragraphs repeated which was a little annoying.

This was my second John Nance book. I have enjoyed them. His knowledge of airplanes is obvious because of his pilot training. I spent 4 years in the Coast Guard and flew in the old Albatross and it was fun to here him talk about it. Good story and he does a fine job reading his own material.

This book measures up to previous John Nance books with continous mystery building from one point to another. The characters were believable in the situation with professionalize in the respective careers. The technical knowledge of flying an airplane in severe circumstance was informative without being boring. I would recommed this book to fellow mystery buffs who like interige.
