What a book! This story is darker, deeper, more complex and more touching than its prequel, Beautiful Lies, which I also loved! The story picks up the with heroine Ridley about a year after Beautiful Lies, as she still tries to piece together who she is, where she belongs, and how she and Jake fit together. Ridley Jones is a compelling, down-right likable combination of grit, common sense, vulnerability and sass. Her new adventure keeps you guessing as it evolves into an engaging, provoking and satisfying tale. Though the story is primarily a thriller, both fast-paced and psychologically mesmerizing,I would be remiss without mentioning the skill with which Unger creates her intense, charged, and emotionally invested tender moments and love scenes. At the end of this book, threads still dangle that have not been sewn up. I hope to see Ridley again!
This is the second book in the series and Jenna Lumia does another great job narrating this book. I love the characters and will miss them. I hope this turns into movie because it is so entertaining!
Lisa Unger lives in Florida with her husband and daughter.
