Overview

Was Jesus really married to Mary Magdalene? Did they actually have children who intermarried with the French royal family? Has the church been hiding the truth for centuries? In his bestselling work of fiction, "The DaVinci Code, Dan Brown blurs the lines between history and fiction, giving the impression they are one and the same and that Christianity is based on a lie. In "The DaVinci Deception, renowned theologian and pastor of the world famous Moody Church in Chicago, Dr. Erwin Lutzer, examines the "facts" behind the bestselling novel, clarifies the issues involved in the deception and equips readers with the truth.

As a Christian - I wonder why people must continually degrade another writer, just to spew religion. Whether the DaVinci Code is fact or fiction - it was a good mystery book. Everyone has the right to their opinion including this author. As far as I'm concerned all this author did was quote verse after verse of different bibles, as he continued to say how terrible Brown was - that's only his opinion. I enjoyed the book The DaVinci Code - did it make me review my religion maybe, but isn't that characteristic of a good writer - to make you think. This author only made me feel like all he could do was preach he's right, and everyone else is wrong. Give me an author like Dan Brown who makes me think, so that I can continue to grow, not only intellectually, but spiritually as well.

Everyone has a right to their opinion and the right to tell a story. It is up to us to be able to tell the difference between what we want to believe and what we dont.

Truth or fiction

I would recommend this book in general for anyone that has read the DiVinci Code. Those that would like a severe trouncing on D Browns book, listen away. He gets a little enthusiastic on his faith from time to time, but not too bad. His analysis seems to be fairly clear in most cases, keeping in mind I have not read all the books he uses as reference. His agenda is to hit every conflict with current Christian beliefs. Though some instances were he can say there is no definitive answer between D Brown and Christian beliefs, he decides to use odd logic. For example, To prove that Jesus never married, was that no where is there a dictionary from that time that says companion means spouse, and Jesus would not be married because; 1, no document specifically said so, 2, he wouldn’t because it would spoil his marriage to us after he had arisen, 3, if he did marry it wouldn’t be to a prostitute. That defines it. neral.

The "Truth" According to a hateful religion

Wow what a crock. Religion is a tool to control the masses. Simple. Christianity is responsible for more deaths than all the modern wars combined. The church will kill to protect it's secrets. Don't bother with this tripe.
